And I’m glad I didn’t bring a bigger car. Would have made the piddly groceries available look silly in such a large car.
Did this many people only poop at work? That’s super weird.
I hope people also bought something to help them poop after all that cheese.
If you wanted to make snickerdoodles, you’ll have to adjust the recipe to use “BBQ spice”.

LOL is that a K-Mart? Did you actually stumble upon an open K-Mart?
Yeah, who says a Miata can’t fit shit? It clearly has enough room to buy everything in stock at that store :p

What region is this? That seems quite grim.

My local Target!
Miata is currently the most practical car that I own.

Richmond, CA. Grim was the shelf with peanut butter. The only stuff left was the organic all-natural and the superchunky. I have a theory that my region is full of people who have no idea how to feed themselves and they are living on peanut butter and cheese.

I went to my local grocery today here in Austin, and things were relatively normal. Still a few glaring omissions, but it had TP and some canned soup and other canned products. Barely any ramen, though. My grocery shopping at Target even when there isn’t a global pandemic has never been that good.

Wow that is super empty.

Hmm, I last went shopping on Friday and my store was pretty much back to normal in terms of stock, just a few random things that were missing, but even then it was just specific brands as opposed to all products.

It might be time to switch stores to a predominantly grocery place like Albertsons or Safeway. Locally both of those are doing pretty well keeping stocked up. We were even able to score Charmin at Costco so that might be an option too.

It looks like some sort of Soviet Costco
Also, being lactose intolerant and having IBS, cheese tends to have the opposite effect on me.

I’ve been able to get pretty much everything I’ve wanted delivered so far, except this last time, liquid dish soap and the shopper had to substitute a Californian G ouda for Dutch.

That is a terrifying sight. Also yeah in Silicon Valley a lot are pretty spoiled to the free food. I know a handful that work in tech out there and they are complaining about having to pay for breakfast and lunch now...

Dude come over the bridge to Marin, Woodlands in Kentfield is the least busy later in the day and they have all kinds of stuff. We get delivery when we can.

oddly I’ve found soup cheaper at target than stop and shop/giant.

The TP could be in the back, asking an employer to take you back to get a pack or two so they don’t sell out. The local market does that with high demand items right now.

Yeah, I just hate the Safeway. I’ll need to get in the car and go to one of the other stores like Raley’s.

Yeah, I don’t live in an area with many tech workers but I have heard the same. A lot of facebook/google people don’t normally buy any food at all.

Sign at the front said they were out. They have a bulletin board at the front of the store with all the items that are out of stock.

Thanks, I may do that! I went to target because it’s 2 blocks from my house.

My friend Rudi lives in Richmond in a cool hidden neighborhood, he comes over here if he can’t get delivery too. Mollie Stones at Bon Air is busy most of the time, I would go to Woodlands, I go there when I have to and it is full of food, no shortage there, no idea about TP. I ordered a box of six huge 12" industrial rolls of TP when this started ,we had half a costco pack but I wasn’t sure what was going to happen.

Our Albertson’s has had trouble keeping a few things in stock, like eggs and still TP. They couldn’t get flour, so they broke open the huge sacks their bakery had and subdivided it to sell. Otherwise, mostly back to normal. You still can’t get liquid soap anywhere (but bar is plentiful, weird) and even Sam’s was cleared out of TP.

The Albertsons by our house has most things but it’s still low on toilet paper and some baking supplies like yeast. I’m sure they were not expecting that yeast would be a big seller all of a sudden so it’s no surprise that their supply chain can’t keep up.

Good call. I buy TP and PT about 4 times/year. I had just done my normal run right before this whole thing happened so I’m still okay.
I may try woodlands. I have a small grocer that’s on one of my common walks here into El Cerrito that has great vegetables but no meat/dairy. As much as I love Berkeley Bowl, the “crowd control” thing makes me want to punch babies. The same number of people show up to the store, whether you make them wait outside or not.

Christ. Our shelves have been back to normal for the last three weeks. Other than barriers and arrows point direction of travel for each aisle, you wouldn't notice anything was different.
